26 Weeks Pregnant Update: Salads Everyday!

Getting closer! This week marks the 26 weeks pregnant update! I feel like this pregnancy has gone so very slowly but I am finally making some progress. I know as soon as this baby is here I’ll miss being pregnant but at the moment I just want to be done.

Hows baby?

Baby is the size of a butternut squash!


This week has been going fairly smoothly. I’m starting to get big so I’m fairly uncomfortable but compared to the rest of this pregnancy it’s been good!


Running! I keep reading running recaps and have started day dreaming about running. I can’t wait to get back to it. I’ve been making running plans for myself all week.

Sleep/Crazy Dreams

Sleep has been a bit wonky. I’ve started waking up about every night at around one and being awake until about five before I’m able to go back to sleep.

I’ve definitely still been having crazy dreams. My favorite one this week was me and my husband were at Disney and spent the entire time in a store that only sold chocolate. I then cried in the dream because I couldn’t decide what kind of chocolate I wanted to buy because I wanted them all. (If we are being honest I really think this wouldn’t be too far from reality if I was given those kind of choices in real life haha!)

Food Cravings

Salads! I can’t seem to get enough! I swear I’ve eaten a salad almost every single day for the last couple weeks. It could be much worse so I’ll take it!

Food Aversions

Hamburger meat. The smell of it alone makes me gag. No meat for me, thanks!


I’ve been able to start going on walks a little bit. Unfortunately I’m not cleared by the doctor for any exercise besides that currently.

  1. I am right behind you at 24ish weeks with my third. So far my biggest complaint is horrible headaches. I had some nausea early on. I am also terribly tired because I am also chasing my first two around, sometimes literally!

  2. Although I’m not pregnant its really interesting to see what it like for when i do get to that stage in my life, its such a beautiful and wonder gift we women have to bring a new life in to the world, its a true miracle when you really think about it. x

  4. I think that salad is a great craving! It is packed with vitamins which benefits both you and your baby. That’s a nice comparison btw, with the butternut squash 🙂

    1. That’s what I’m thinking! With my first pregnancy I DID NOT crave healthy foods at all so I’ll take this change! Thank you for the kind words!

  5. I struggled through 6 pregnancies… only 2 living children. Thinking about the whole of it makes me sad. Some women thrive… but that wasn’t my story. My youngest made me sick all 40 weeks 🙁 and she brings me joy every day!

    1. I’m so sorry for your losses. My husband and I have lost five pregnancies. My husband always tells me that I’m “really horrible at being pregnant.” Two is going to be plenty for us!

  6. OMW! A Facebook memory popped up today, & I was 26 weeks preggies this time last year!
    I can relate so much to the weird dreams! I often dreamt of my son as a toddler and they still give me the warm and fuzzies thinking about it. All the best for the next few months!

  9. My first pregnancy I definitely ate MUCH better than my second! But I had gestational diabetes with my first so I really had to watch what I ate… I think that is one of the reasons I went so crazy with me second!!

  10. It seems so funny to me that you’re craving salads! You’re going to have a healthy baby for sure. I’ve never been pregnant, but from what I’ve heard, it seems to me that the 20-30 week period can be most comfortable (i.e. no morning sickness and energy levels are pretty good) for moms to be. Would you agree?

  11. I remember all the food aversions and cravings when I was pregnant with my son. I could not eat any fresh fruit or vegetable because I would instantly get sick, I always joked that the baby didn’t like it! But now all he ever wants is fresh fruit!!! I’m glad you’ve been able to have some pretty healthy cravings, that’s awesome!!

  12. Congratulations on your pregnancy and you are headed for such an exciting time. Although I am not pregnant at the moment – when I was I craved apples (which I am allergic to) and couldn’t stand the smell of canned foods.

  14. Seems like a little weird for the salad thingy haha but all for you and the baby good thing your craving for some healthy foods though. oh dear, can’t wait for you little angel!

  15. I can’t complain too much about my pregnancies but I remember with my daughter vomiting a lot until the 4th month I hope everything goes alright I can’t wait to see your baby take care!!

  16. Congratulations on your pregnancy and I hope you have a healthy pregnancy and smooth delivery. For me I didn’t have craving but I had some food aversions with onions being the biggest.
