30 Weeks Pregnant Update: Finally 3rd Trimester!

I swear I have been pregnant for about 72 years! Maybe it’s just because it is so hot outside but I swear this pregnancy is dragging on so much more slowly than my first pregnancy. The last couple of weeks have been a bit crazy. We had a bit of a scare and ended up having to go to the hospital and get checked out. Luckily everything turned out fine but we are still quite worried about preterm labor. Fortunately, we have now made it to our 30 weeks pregnant mark. I just keep reminding myself that I’m 3/4 of the way there now.

How’s Baby?

According to my app baby is the size of a motor cycle helmet this week. Honestly this feels like about the best description I’ve ever heard. I’m fairly certain I would feel about as awkward if someone strapped a motor cycle helmet to my abdomen as I do right now.

I CAN’T BREATH! I swear I sound like an English Bulldog whenever I try to turn over in bed. It’s a bit comical at this point.

Working out, like always. I seriously day dream about spending quality time with my treadmill. Feel free to share in a comment any awesome workouts you have had lately so I can live vicariously through you!

I’m also missing just being comfortable in general. I swear I’m only comfy if I’m completely laid out in the floor and even then it’s questionable. I love that I’m pregnant and I wouldn’t give it up for anything but my lord I am DONE!

Sleep/Crazy Dream Update

Sleep has been hit or miss lately. James is starting to realize that something is going on and is becoming a lot more clingy. Because of this he is regressing to where he is waking up about every two hours all night long again so sleep has been a bit rocky the last couple weeks.

My crazy dreams continue however. Last night I had a dream where my husband, aunt, and I decided we wanted to see what the inside of some really fancy houses looked like. Instead of looking for open houses we decided to start breaking into houses in the middle of the night just to look around. Finally the dream ended when we got caught and a man chased us out to our car. (Guys I swear I can’t make this stuff up. The dreams this pregnancy have been a bit hysterical at times.)

Food Cravings

Honestly I haven’t really been having too many food cravings lately. I have however been insanely hungry all the time. I feel like a bottomless pit some days!

Food Avesions

This one is the same as always. Meat is not really my friend but beyond that I’ve been pretty ok with most things.

I have been able to walk a little bit with James. Other than that the doctor has told me that exercise is just going to have to be a no go until baby gets here. As much as this bothers me I keep reminding myself that it’s only for a short time (because I’m FINALLY 30 weeks pregnant) and I’ll eventually get back to my “normal” routine.

  1. We know exactly what you mean about 72 years… even for me as a hubby I’m sure it was way more than 9 months. You just have to keep reminding yourself what a precious time of your life it is.

  2. The last quarter was the toughest for me as I’m petite and tough to have such a big belly, especially sleeping! So lucky that I didn’t have morning sickness though!

  3. I am convinced that last three months of pregnancy are for the men to realize that it’s happening. They can’t miss that it’s there. We are sure fed up with it by then.
Hang in there. My second was tough too but after some preterm labor and pregnancy induced hypertension I made it to 39 weeks and a great delivery. Rest, relax and try to enjoy the whole process.

    1. Haha my husband is defiantly aware (probably because I complain a lot). I had PIH with my first and I know how awful it can be. I’m so glad to hear that everything went well in the long run!

  4. Wow 30 weeks! You are getting so close. I remember how slow the last half of my pregnancy went. Before you know it you will have your bundle of joy in your arms.

  5. Wow I hear a lot of things about being pregnant and food cravings would prob be my worst nightmare. Hope everything goes well with you!

  6. Just a little bit more and you can hold your precious baby. I remember that I was really hungry during my pregnancy too. Your dreams sound really funny. LOL.

  7. I remember when I was 30 weeks pregnant, and it seemed like the end wasn’t close enough! I know it’s a bit hard and discouraging now, but just wait until you see that little baby’s face!! It’s the best feeling in the whole world! You’re so close! Hang in there!! Thanks for sharing!

  8. I got lucky with my pregnancy, it was relatively easy! I didn’t have morning sickness but the hardest was sleeping comfortably toward the end of the pregnancy.
