Healthy Peaches and Cream Smoothie

Healthy Peaches and Cream Smoothie

I have absolutely been obsessed with fruit smoothies lately. I’m not sure if it’s the insanely hot weather or just pregnancy cravings but I can’t seem to get enough. Last week my uncle traveled to Oklahoma to a peach festival and brought us back a TON of peaches! I cannot explain to you how juicy and sweet these amazing peaches are. They are absolutely delicious! Unfortunately peaches aren’t exactly known for their longevity. To solve this issue I’ve been freezing some and making smoothies out of them and they have far exceeded my expectations. This healthy peaches and cream smoothie is by far my favorite!

First you have to freeze your peaches. I remember whenever I was little my grandma for some reason would freeze peaches whole and I believe later would use them for things like peach cobblers. How the heck she managed to make that work I have no idea. (She was a genius!)

Anyways, I’m not even close to being brave enough to try to freeze and entire peach whole and it still turn out usable afterwards. Instead I cut my peaches into slices before putting them in a ziplock bag and throwing them in the freezer. The more air you remove from the bag the better and longer the frozen peaches will keep. I also choose to keep the skin on the peach slices but if you prefer it’s fine to peel them first. If you leave it on you really don’t notice it at all in the smoothie so I just don’t bother.

In addition to freezing your peaches I also like to freeze the banana that I put in all of  my smoothies. It works much better if you slice the banana before freezing instead of freezing it in large pieces. The banana blends up much easier that way.

The secret ingredient to this smoothie is the 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. I know it seems like it wouldn’t make a difference with such a small amount. It really does make all the difference! Trust me!

Below is a printable version of the whole recipe. Leave me a comment below with more ideas for what to do with all of these peaches!!

  1. Yum! That sounds amazing! Happy to have a healthy recipe because I typically think of peaches and cream as more of a one-in-a-while treat!

  2. Do you have an Almond Milk brand you prefer? I just read an article on how you should be really picky when it comes to almond milk because a lot of them are mostly water?

  3. Smoothies are one of my go to treats. I will have to get the ingredients I need to make this delicious recipe this weekend. I am sure it will be a big hit.

  4. Last month we got a chance to pick peaches on our local farm. it is so tasty and crunchy. I wish I came a cross to this post prior to that. So that I know what to do on the peaches we pick. There’s always a next time.

    1. We have been looking for absolutely anything we can to use some of them up around here! They go bad so quickly you have to binge on them for a few days!

    1. Oh my goodness I didn’t even think of that! I’m sure there are some interesting fruits and dishes that are available there that aren’t here. It’s so interesting learning about other cultures!

    1. I usually do too! Unfortunatly the day I made this one the only protein powder I had on hand was cinnamon bun flavored and I just couldn’t go for it haha

  5. This healthy peaches and cream smoothie is so easy to make and it sounds delicious. I am going to have to make this smoothie because I do love peaches and this recipe doesn’t call for yogurt which I don’t like. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
