New Personal Training Plans!

Happy Monday everyone! I have some super exciting news for you! I’ve spent the last few weeks working on several brand new personal training plans which I launched TODAY!! So without further adieu, let’s jump straight in!

My Story (Why the Heck I’m Doing This)

I have had such an up and down journey to get to the point of deciding to be a personal trainer as a career. My passion for fitness started years ago when I was in high school. I have always had weight issues especially when I was a child. I was morbidly obese from about second grade until I discovered fitness in high school. So many people I’ve talked to say “oh I was a chubby kid too” but I’m serious guys. I was almost 200 lbs in second grade. I was teased and made fun of for my appearance. Eventually, I reached a point where I was just done.

When I was a Junior in High School I joined a gym for the first time in my life and fell in love with running. I started working out every single day not because I had to but because I genuinely wanted to. The first time I realized I could run an entire mile and I was so happy I cried right there. And about 6 months later I ended up running my first full marathon.

Why I became a Personal Trainer

Around this time (end of high school) I started toying with the idea of becoming a personal trainer but I never really put serious thought into it. Eventually, I went to nursing school and realized after working in a hospital that I have a passion for people. I loved meeting all of the new personalities. The thing was that working in a hospital just wasn’t for me. I loved the people, not so much the job.

When I became pregnant with my son and was put on bed rest and I decided it was time to do something different. I knew I wanted to be able to interact with and help people and I wanted to mesh that with my love of fitness. Since I was on bed rest I decided to take advantage of my free time and got my personal trainer’s license.

This was the best move I have ever made! Being a personal trainer allows me to help people while doing something that has been bringing me joy for almost 7 years now!

What is Online Personal Training?

Online Personal Training Plans are basically exactly what they sound like. I provide my clients with workouts (along with many other resources) to help them reach their fitness goals, much like a personal trainer in a gym would. The difference is with my training plans you get to contact me at any time and I’ll help you make the tough choices (should I eat this cake? -sometimes yes haha). I give you the tools you need to reach your fitness goals and build a knowledge base so you can be successful long term! Every plan is individualized and I work with each client 1:1 to meet goals. I give you a workout schedule and you fit in the workouts when you have time that day.

    1. Exactly. It’s so much more adaptable than having a scheduled time that you have to make with your trainer at the gym. This way I’m always available and you can fit it into your schedule instead of the other way around.

  6. This sounds like a great option. Accountability is so important when trying to achieve any goal. It’s inspiring to hear a testimony such as yours. Weight struggle affects so many, including myself, and it’s easy to feel like you don’t have an out. Thankful for people, like you, who not only changed their life, but also strive to change the lives of others.

    1. It really is just as much a mental thing as it is physical. I know how hard it is to struggle and try everything and feel like you’re getting nowhere. I love seeing clients whenever they have that “yes” moment where everything just clicks!

    1. I do my best to make workouts fit around crazy schedules. I know exactly what it’s like to be in school, working, and have a kiddo to chase so I know how hectic things can be.

    1. Most workouts that I design do use weights but I adapt each workout to the equipment that the individual has. I’ll design workouts that can be done in a gym, at home with equipment, or at home without equipment depending upon what the client prefers.

  10. I am currently trying to lose my last 10 pounds, and am definitely interested in this. Online personal training sounds very convenient!

  11. I make sure I get some exercise even if I am busy to be able to maintain a healthy body and also I use to exercise to release some bad energy in my body. This training program is a nice idea and a good way for those who has no regular workouts and super busy schedules.

    1. Basically I provide you with all of your workout guides for the month plus nutrition info. I customize every workout just like a personal trainer at your gym would so I can help each client get their best results.

  14. I think this is really amazing (that you provide this service online). Isn’t it amazing that you can do this? I bet some people actually prefer this more – it gets them going and moving tossing the intimidation aside of going to the gym (for those that may be apprehensive). Kudos to you!

    1. It really is amazing! I swear some days I cannot believe it! One of the biggest things I hear from clients is their apprehension to go into an actual gym (to which I say “who cares what others think”) and I’m ecstatic to see them flourishing and finding a way to build their self confidence and get fit so they don’t have that fear in the future!

  17. I’m happy that you’ve found what it is that makes you happy! My husband has thought about being a personal trainer…I keep trying to get him to go for it, but he’s afraid that studying for the test will be too much like ‘school.’ What was your experience like you got your personal trainer’s certification?

    1. Honestly I didn’t find the studying too bad, but the biggest thing that I see people having trouble with when they are studying is the anatomy and physiology of it (there is a HUGE emphasis on knowing certain muscles and how they interact with the rest of the body as well as over all body systems knowledge). I personally didn’t find it too bad because I’m a nurse so I had already covered that aspect of it but if he has never had any anatomy classes in the past I could see it being a bit daunting.
